The International Symposium for Biodiversity and Theoretical Ecology, which was cosponsored by the School of Life Sciences and the State Key Laboratory of Biocontrol (SYSU), was held on the East Campus of SYSU from May 9th to May 12th, It has invited 11 world-renowned experts of biodiversity and theoretical ecologists to give lectures, and attracted over 200 representatives from many Chinese universities and R&D institutions. Professor He Fangliang and professor Yu Shixiao from School of Life Sciences, SYSU, and professor Zhang Dayong, Chairman of Department of Ecology from Beijing Normal University (BNU) hosted the meeting together. Xu Anlong, VVice President of SYSU was present at the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
