On the evening of March 29, Qin Xiao, the doctor of Cambridge University, chairman of Boyuan Foundation, and former president of China Merchants Group and China Merchants Bank, delivered a lecture in Lingnan College at SYSU. The theme of this lecture was Modern Enterprises Theory and Management of China's Enterprises. This lecture lifted the curtain of "Lingnan CEO Forum."

Dr. Qin Xiao made incisive comments on the development of modern enterprise theory, balanced enterprises governance in checks and balances and efficiency, and enterprise management by distributing, pricing and evaluating. He said that, after a decade of golden period of development, the global economy encountered financial crisis and economic downturn, and China's economic growth rate. was faced with the return from high speed to normality. Under this situation, management is especially important for enterprises’ survival, development and competition. He believed that problems in China's enterprises' management could be analyzed by modern enterprise theory. However, the theory can only be helpful in finding and analyzing problems, and solving these problems relies on an enterprise's experience and competence. The transformation of China's economic pattern and rapid economic development offer rich and challenging subjects for entrepreneurs and economists. He hoped that China's entrepreneurs and economists would response to these subjects and contribute more to the development of economy and innovation of economics in China.

Dr. Qin Xiao's lecture was rich in content, incisive in comments and vivid in description, therefore, it won acclaim and applause from the audience. After the lecture, teachers, students and alumni of SYSU raised various questions, including enterprise management, product diversification and high home prices, to which Dr. Qin Xiao gave humorous and insightful answers.

In 2011, Lingnan College launched "Lingnan Forum" program, a high-level forum series, including "Lingnan Master Forum", "Lingnan Finance Forum" and "Lingnan CEO Forum", with one session a month. Until now, four sessions have been successfully held. This April, Li Chaofen, the vice president of Hong Kong University, will be invited to lecture in "Lingnan Master Forum".
